The Inwood Rezoning was a neighborhood-wide rezoning undertaken by the de Blasio administration to create opportunities for new housing (including affordable housing), community facilities, and other development within an approximately 240-acre area of northern Manhattan. In addition to the rezoning, the project included zoning text amendments, City Map amendments, Urban Development Action Area designation and Urban Development Action Area Project approval and disposition, disposition authority, and acquisition authority.
PHA prepared the project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) application on behalf of the New York City Economic Development Corporation. The EIS analyzed 73 sites which are expected to be developed with a total of over 5,100 residential units, 1.4 million square feet of commercial space, and 540,000 square feet of community facility space.
