PHA prepared the Environmental Assessment Statement (EAS) for the redevelopment of the former Greenpoint Hospital in Brooklyn. The project involved a rezoning, a disposition of city-owned property, and financing from NYC Housing Preservation & Development. The project involves the on-site replacement of the 200-bed Kleiman Residence and construction of 567 new affordable residential units. The former Greenpoint Hospital Complex was determined eligible for listing on the State/National Registers of Historic Places, and the project’s effects on historic resources was a key focus of the CEQR environmental review.
