PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Youngwoo & Associates was selected by the Hudson River Park Trust to develop Pier 57, a historic 900-foot pier near the Meatpacking District, into a mixed-use complex featuring retail, restaurants, a marina, and a rooftop park, among other uses. The $200 million renovation will include an indoor market with shops and cafes housed in refurbished steel shipping containers, as well as an outdoor cinema run by the Tribeca Film Festival. PHA is providing civil and traffic engineering services for the development. This includes configuration of on-site vehicular circulation, parking, and loading, as well as as well as reconfiguration of the intersections of West 14th, West 15th, West 16th , and West 17th streets at Route 9A. It also includes modifications to the Hudson River Park greenway. PHA is coordinating with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and the Hudson River Park Trust for review and approval of the proposed roadway and bikeway improvements.
