SELECTED RESUMES: Gadi Amit
Mr. Amit has over 30 years of experience in construction and project management. He has worked on technical and managerial assignments on various projects including buildings, bridges, and highways, in both civil and structural engineering.
As the Director of Construction Services for PHA, Mr. Amit is in charge of PHA’s construction management projects, performing resident engineering services as necessary, as well as developing cost estimates for the firm’s design/construction projects including Arverne East in Queens, Ridge Hill Village Center in Yonkers, and the Van Cortlandt Park Pedestrian Bridge in the Bronx.
Currently, Mr. Amit is providing resident engineering services to NYCEDC for the installation of storm and sanitary sewers in Willets Point, Queens. Previously, Mr. Amit led the firm’s construction support services for the off-site improvements associated with the $700 million Ridge Hill Village Center project in Yonkers, and provided resident engineering services for utility construction for NYCHPD residential buildings in the Bronx and the Riverside South project in Manhattan. Mr. Amit was also the resident engineer for the sewer construction at the Edge in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, improvements to West End Avenue in Manhattan, and the infrastructure development for the Rheingold Gardens residential development in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Other projects have included the Riverwalk residential development on Roosevelt Island, the Home Depot on Cropsey Avenue in Brooklyn, as well as providing construction support services for the Gateway Center retail development on the Shore Parkway in Brooklyn.
While at MTA Bridges & Tunnels (TBTA), Mr. Amit served as a construction manager at the Marine Parkway and Cross Bay Bridges and was directly in charge of a variety of large scale capital projects. Mr. Amit’s responsibilities included daily supervision of construction and design work, overseeing the resident engineers’ crews, decision making on all project related activities, change orders, cost estimates, negotiations with contractors and consultants, and developing RFP’s for design and construction inspection projects.
For NYCDOT Bureau of Transit Operations, Mr. Amit served as a construction superintendent and was project manager for the design of a new 75,000 square foot ferry maintenance facility building at St. George, Staten Island. In addition, Mr. Amit served as office engineer for the reconstruction of three bridges on the Meadowbrook Parkway for NYSDOT and provided inspection services on the Queensboro Bridge.
