Civil Engineer:

Duties: Responsible for design & engineering of streets, sidewalks and public and private infrastructure including sewers and water mains, agency approvals and construction observation; Analyze survey reports, maps, and record drawings to plan & design streets, sidewalks, private/public infrastructure including hydraulic & sewers systems, following construction and government standards; Obtain agency approvals and visit construction sites to ensure conformance to design specifications; Prepare roadway design including horizontal and vertical geometry, development of grading and drainage plans, signing and striping plans, storm water management, and traffic signal plans; Conduct impact analysis of roads, highways and traffic and prepare ULURP documents.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in civil engineering + 2 years experience in job or as a civil engineer involving roadway and storm water management design and development. Experience must involve site visit & inspection and utilizing Microstation and SWMM 5.0, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, & EPANET hydraulics/hydrology software (4/16/2013).

PHA is currently accepting resumes for upcoming projects with NYSDOT, NYSTA, NYCDOT, DDC, and private developers. Construction projects may include bridge work, highways, road construction, storm and sanitary sewers and water mains. Highway work is anticipated to be performed at night.
