PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Bahrain Bay is a development on 45 hectares (110 acres) of reclaimed land off the north coast of Bahrain. PHA is providing civil and transportation engineering services for three projects on the island as a subconsultant to Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
Salhia Tower will contain 9,290 square meters (100,000 square feet) of retail and 37,160 square meters (400,000 square feet) of office development, with approximately 700 parking spaces in two garages. The Palace Apartments will consist of approximately 330 luxury dwelling units, approximately 744 square meters (8,000 square feet) of restaurant space, and approximately 585 parking spaces in an above and below-grade structure. The Four Seasons Hotel and Residence will consist of approximately 250 hotel rooms, 148 luxury dwelling units, 1,190 square meters (12,800 square feet) of restaurants, and a conference center/ballroom, with 929 parking spaces in two underground garages. PHA’s tasks for each of these projects included site circulation planning, developing the site interface with the surrounding areas, schematic design of the access system and parking and loading areas, and coordination of transportation design elements with the project’s design team.
