CORNELL TECH CAMPUS
LOCATION:
roosevelt island, new york
CLIENT:
Cornell University
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Cornell University, in partnership with Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, was selected by the City of New York to
develop a new engineering campus on Roosevelt Island. The campus, just south of the Queensboro Bridge, is being
developed in phases, and will consist of approximately two million square feet of development when fully built. PHA
prepared the ULURP application and map change drawings required to establish the new loop road on the city map
and connect the campus to the existing public street system. The firm coordinated extensively with NYCDOT to provide
design services related to the transportation and infrastructure components of the project. This included final design of
the new loop road including new sanitary and storm sewers, water mains and electric and gas utilities. PHA’s scope also
included on-site grading and drainage design and stormwater management, as well as providing construction inspection
services for the utilities and roadways.
